The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) senior management team embarked on an European tour in early October. This strategic expedition, which spanned four countries over the course of five days, aimed at strengthening international collaborations and highlighting HKUST's cutting-edge developments in AI, Innovation, and SmartCities.

The delegation was led by Provost Prof. GUO Yike, joined by Dean of Business and Management Prof. TAM Kar Yan, Dean of Engineering Prof. Hong LO, Associate Provost (Institutional Data and Research) Dr. Alison LLOYD, and Head of Global Engagement and Greater China Affairs Ms. Yvonne LI. The team engaged with several of HKUST's key academic partners, including University College London, Imperial College London, University of Oxford, Technical University of Munich, and ETH Zurich. These visits underscore HKUST's dedication to establishing and maintaining strong global connections that enhance educational and research opportunities.

The HKUST delegation hosted 2 exclusive receptions that brought together distinguished scholars to discuss advancements and collaborative prospects. Additionally, an expert seminar was co-organized in partnership with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) London and Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London. Prof. Guo Yike and Prof. Hong LO delivered keynote speeches on how AI and innovation have been shaping sustainable and citizen-centric smart cities. 

The tour also provided the opportunity for HKUST representatives to reconnect with the university's alumni in London and Paris, sharing the latest developments and fostering a continued sense of community among the institution's graduates.
