The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) signed the ‘HKUST-Cornell Cooperation Agreement’ with Cornell University to collaborate on teaching, training, and cutting-edge research on February 9.

Leveraging the expertise of both universities, the two forward-thinking partners will work together to explore new opportunities for joint activities and strengthen academic exchange and research collaborations across disciplines. Highlighting the common goals to address global issues, " There are many big areas we can collaborate on, such as sustainability, new energy and aging society." said HKUST Provost Prof. GUO Yike.

Cornell University Vice Provost for International Affairs Prof. Wendy WOLFORD echoed the sentiment, saying, "Cornell University is very pleased to be entering into a university-wide, strategic collaboration with HKUST. As two top universities in different parts of the world, we have many complementary strengths, and I believe our students and faculty will benefit greatly from research and teaching exchanges. We look forward to developing these in areas of mutual interest, such as around new solutions for climate change, urban design, and sustainability."

This partnership unites two trailblazing institutions in a shared vision for global impact. HKUST and Cornell University will explore opportunities for joint programs and propel academic and research excellence.
