In collaboration with Zhongshan University's
Institute for Guangdong Development. The first round was completed in
July 2000. There are total 2,000 samples of households from Shaoguan,
Guangzhou, Zhanjiang, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Shantou and Meizhou.

A population survey was conducted by the
Survey Research Center (SRC), Division of Social Science at HKUST
between May 12 and May 18 2003, one week before the World Health
Organization (WHO) has lifted its travel alert against Hong Kong. The
survey data were collected via telephone interviews with the
computer-assisted telephone interview (CATI) system of the SRC.
