Interactive Television Service (ITVS) is a new mechanism of delivering different types of service in an interactive manner. Interactive systems will give users the flexiblilty of selecting and receiving specific information using a TV remote control. This differs from traditional television delivery mechanism, in which the user is a passive participant receiving what the service provider offers. Instead, users can now use their remtoe control to retrieve any service at any time they like.
In the U. S., different computer, entertainment and telecommunications firms are testing the ITVS, mainly video-on-demand, home shopping and interactive game, in various trials . During our visits, we are honour to have opportunities to expose ourselves to the ITVS through demonstration and video showing how ITVS operates. We then capture our own experience into a ITVS Trip and welcome you to share our experience.
In order to support an ITVS, different state-of-art technology is deployed. In the technology and business highlight, we use the video-on-demand system to briefly describe and explain the technology deployed behind the whole system and how various computer, entertainment and telecommunications firms are involved in ITVS business.
