Safety Policy Aims

The purpose of this document is to present the department's current safety policy for experimental work. The overall aim of this policy is to ensure that each person carrying out experimental work in this department understands:

  • the potential hazards and hazardous situations relating to their work and how to deal with them
  • their responsibilities (moral and legal) for adopting safe working practices
Implementation of the policy requires individuals to attend basic safety training courses and carry out a formal, documented review of the risks associated with their work. As part of our quality assurance procedures, the content of each document is evaluated internally.
