Postprocessor

Ver: 3

DESCRIPTION

Postprocessors can be used to calculate derived quantities from previously computed fields over the domain. Force and heat fluxes postprocessors are enabled in the boundary condition menu.   OPTIONS

1 Local shear-rate
For flow problems, the local shear-rate is computed where D is the rate of deformation tensor
2 Viscosity
For flow problems, the viscosity (function of the second invariant of the rate of deformation tensor, and/or of the temperature) is produced
3 Rate of deformation tensor
For flow problems, the components of the tensor D are computed
4 Inelastic stress tensor
For generalized Newtonian flow problems, the components of the stress tensor T are computed
5 Viscous heating
For flow problems, the viscous heating is computed
6 Total extra stress tensor
Some viscoelastic models include a purely viscous counterpart to the stress tensor. For such models, the knowledge of the total stress tensor is of interest. Selecting this option produces this total stress tensor.
7 Residence time
For flow problems, the residence time distribution is computed
8 Tracking of material points
For transient simulations only, this postprocessor allows for the tracking of x=constant, y=constant (and z=constant) lines (planes) through the flow domain.
9 Tracking of a material property
For flow problems, the user can track particles by assigning a value of a 'material property' (a scalar field) to them and following the advection of this property in the flow domain.
10 Forces on slices
For axisymmetric fiber spinning problems, computes the force acting on each slice of the mesh.
11 Heat fluxes
Computes the heat fluxes
12 Flow rate
Computes the flow rate
13 Joule effect
Computes the Joule effect = s/2 v•v
14 Mixing index
Computes the mixing index = /(+)
15 Extension evaluation
Computes the extension (linear and area strech) of material in Blow molding or Thermoforming simulations..
Available for shell models only.
16 Vorticity
Computes the rotational of the velocity vector on the flow domain.
17 Convected heat
Computes the integral of       ro Cp V.n T         on a boundary set specified by the user.
NOTES For viscoelastic flows with a purely viscous component, the calculation of the total stress tensor will be performed upon request.   SEE ALSO
