Outputs

Ver: 4   DESCRIPTION In addition to the result file which is always created and used to restart the program,
Polyflow generates output files used by various graphic packages.

By default, the output files are generated for Fluent/Post postprocessor.

OPTIONS

-1
Upper level menu
0
Output Triggering
Allows the user to specify when polyflow must create output files. The user may specify a Dt (DS) between each triggering or a number of successful steps.
Not available when this menu is accessed via the 'Convert old results file' menu.
1'
Enable/Disable Polyplot output
Turns on/off output for Polyplot.
For 2-D problems, result files for the Polyplot graphics package are generated.
Note that, as the current version of Polyplot does not recognise sub-domain structures, Polyplot mesh and result files (p2m and p2r) are generated for each part of the domain on which different fields exist. For example, in a two fluid calculation, 3 sets of files will coexist: one set for the whole mesh (velocity, stream function), and one set for each fluid (velocity, pressure for the fluid and stream function).
  1"
Enable/Disable 3Dcross output
Turns on/off output for 3Dcross.
For 3-D problems, result files excepted by the 3Dcross graphics package are generated.
Note that, as the current version of 3Dcross does not recognise sub-domain structures, 3Dcross mesh and result files (p3m and p3r) are generated for each part on the domain on which different fields exist.
2
Enable/Disable Patran output
Turns on/off output for Patran.
For 2-D and 3-D problems, result files accepted by the Patran graphics package are generated. A Neutral file (mesh) and a result file are generated.
Patran does not allow for different fields in different parts of the domain. Therefore, the same remark on domain segmentation as for Polyplot holds (see option 1').
3
Enable/Disable Ideas output
Turns on/off output for Ideas.
For 2-D and 3-D problems, result files accepted by the Supertab graphics package are generated. A Universal file (mesh) and a result file are generated.
Ideas does not allow for different fields in different parts of the domain. Therefore, the same remark on domain segmentation as for Polyplot holds (see option 1').
4
Enable/Disable Datavisual output
Turns on/off output for DataVisualizer
For 2-D and 3-D problems, result files accepted by the DataVisualizer of Wavefront Technologies are generated.
The DataVisualizer does not allow for different fields in different parts of the domain. Therefore, the same remark on domain segmentation as for Polyplot holds (see also option 1').
5
Enable/Disable CSV (Excel) output
Turns on/off output for generating a CSV file.
CSV result files will be used for mesh-to-mesh interpolation.
In order to use a CSV file as a restart file with a refined mesh,
go in the "Numerical parameters" menu.
6
Enable/Disable CFView-PF output
Turns on/off output for CFView-PF
The CFView-PF does not allow for different fields in different parts of the domain. Therefore, the same remark on domain segmentation as for Polyplot holds (see also option 1').
7
Enable/Disable Polyflow output
Turns on/off output of different Polyflow format result files at different steps.  By default, Polyflow overwrites its main result file at each step.  By choosing this option, the user asks for the creation of a different Polyflow result file each time graphical output files are generated (according to the output triggering he chose).
8
Enable/Disable IGES file output
Turns on/off output for a mesh file written in the IGES format
9
Enable/Disable Fluent output
Turns on/off output of result files that are compatible with Flpost, the postprocessor of Fluent package
10
Enable/Disable Fidap output
Turns on/off output of result files that are compatible with Fipost, the postprocessor of Fidap package
11
Manage Probe(s) ouput
Allows to create and manage 'probes'. A 'probe' allows to record the value of field(s) at specific coordinates of the computation domain. This makes the user able to rapidly evaluate the quality of a simulation or to trace the evolution of temperature, pressure or concentration at a precise location of the mesh during a transient simulation.
