Modification of a contact problem
Ver: 0

DESCRIPTION

This menu allows for setting the parameters of a contact problem : contact domain, contact wall, penalty and slipping coefficient, penetration accuracy and volume generation (for shells).   OPTIONS

 -1
Upper level menu
1
Modify contact domain
Allows to choose the subdomain(s) that represent the mold, i.e. the subdomain(s) with which contact must be detected.
2
Modify contact wall
Allows to choose the boundary of  the mold (the contact domain),  with which contact must be detected.
3
Define translation velocity
Allows to define the translation motion of the mold
# Define angular velocity
Allows to define the angular velocity around Z axis (axisymmetric only)
5 Modify alpha
Allows to set the alpha coefficient of the heat conduction equation  q = alpha * ( T - Talpha) where q is the heat flux when contact is detected. Talpha is the temperature of the mold.
6 Modify Talpha
Allows to set Talpha the temperature of the mold
7 Modify slipping coefficient
Allows to set the Fslip coefficient. The tangential force is  fs = - Fslip (v - vwall). The default value of fslip is 1E+09 that corresponds to a zero relative velocity.
8 Modify penalty coefficient
Allows to set the k coefficient. When contact is detected, a normal force is generated  fn = - k (v - vwall) . n
The default value of k is 1E+09 that is appropriate for most cases.
9 Modify penetration accuracy
Allows to set the penetration accuracy. If the penetration of a point is greater that the prescribed penetration accuracy, the time step will be rejected and the calculation will be restarted from the previous time step.
10 Modify element dilatation
Allows to set the expansion of each finite element of the mold in order to help the contact detection algorithm. The default value is set according to the mesh dimensions and generally does not require modification.
# Modify amplitude of volume generation
2D molds need to be extended to a volume to allow for contact detection. 2D molds are extended to 3D in the local normal direction, by a constant amount that is precisely equal to the specified amplitude. This value must be entered in the unit length used for the mesh. (shell only)
# Specify mold side / cavity side
When selected, updates the graphic window to include an arrow. User must specify whether the volume generation occurs in the direction of the arrow or in the opposite direction. (shell only)
