Kellogg-HKUST EMBA Program Ranks World’s No.1 for Ninth Time

2018-10-15

The Executive MBA (EMBA) Program jointly offered by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and the Kellogg School of Management is ranked No.1 in the world in the latest Financial Times (FT) Global EMBA Rankings. This year marks the ninth time the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA Program has topped this highly respected international chart and comes during the Program’s 20th anniversary.

Prof. Wei SHYY, President of HKUST, congratulated the EMBA team on the repeated success of this unique partnership program. “We are delighted to see the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA Program receive the world’s top status for three consecutive years. Its illustrious success not only reaffirms the leading position of HKUST in offering quality programs for international business leaders, but also represents a source of pride to HKUST.”

The Kellogg-HKUST EMBA Program was launched in 1998 to offer the best management education for international talent. Since 2007, the Program has been crowned the best in the world nine times, standing unrivaled in the world. Over 1,000 alumni and students of elite executives from around the world form a global network to exchange ideas and forge powerful connections.

According to the FT Global EMBA Rankings 2018, the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA Program has achieved an outstanding performance in a number of surveyed fields. On career progress, the program graduates achieved the highest average salary three years after graduation, reaching US$507,492 (HK$3,976,990) per annum. They achieved an average salary increase of 66 per cent, an increase that reflects the added value provided by the program.

“We are very pleased with this record-setting achievement, which is the best gift to mark the Program’s 20th anniversary,” said Prof. TAM Kar-Yan, Dean of Business and Management. “Thanks to the conscious effort made by the top-tier faculty of both HKUST and Kellogg, this world-class program is able to keep its curriculum up-to-date and relevant for our high-caliber students to further advance in their careers.”

To meet the changing needs of the world where technological advancements are reshaping businesses globally, the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA Program has introduced some new technology strategy courses such as FinTech and Big Data Analytics to help executives harness opportunities in the future. Themed “Leadership in an Age of Disruption”, the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA 20th anniversary conference held earlier this year is another ongoing effort of the Program to keep its students and alumni stay connected and informed about new developments and topical issues of the world.
