With your Personal (Smartcard) e-Cert, holders of the HKUST Card can perform Windows logon on PCs equipped with a smartcard reader such as PCs in the computer barns.
You may simply
- Insert your HKUST Card into the smartcard reader, and
- Key in your e-Cert password
without the need to type your ITSC Network account and password logging onto the Windows environment.
Please note that removal of your HKUST Card from the card reader will NOT "Log Off" from the computer. You will need to perform the "Log Off" operation explicitly.
Upon finishing Windows logon, you may remove your HKUST Card from the card reader and keep it safely in case you will not use your e-Cert for other operations.
