This talk gives you an idea of an e-learning broadband campus infrastructure and how our backbone network evolves to adapt to this emerging broadband access demand in the new e-learning era.
The first part of the talk will be presented by Mr. Adrian Leung, Consulting Engineer of Cisco Systems (HK) Ltd. Mr. Leung will introduce the basics of broadband technology and describe some of the available broadband services. With the help of case studies, he will also look at several e-learning applications which leverage on the broadband Internet and intranets.
The second part of the talk will be presented by Mr. Joshua Pun, a major ITSC network architect behind the recent backbone re-engineering project of our campus network. Mr. Pun will give you an overview of our new switched Gigabit Ethernet campus network, and highlights the merits of this state-of-the-art solution. In his talk he will also briefly cover the Internet connectivity of HKUST.
