Please noted that the Full Name Email Alias is available to staff and postgraduate students only. It is a facility provided by ITSC for users who wish to have a more meaningful email address for presenting to outside correspondents, such as printing their email address in business cards, research papers, or journal publishing, etc.
Full Name Email Alias is provided as a supplement to the usually more cryptic ITSC Network Account which is restricted to a maximum of 12 characters. Namely, the Full Name Email Alias can comprise at most 32 characters.
Staff users may define your own Full Name Email Alias, subject to a set of syntactic rules as well as the first-come-first-serve principle in case of name clashes. For PG users, their Full Name Email Alias must contains their surname (will need to use abbreviation in case their surname is longer than 10 characters).

You should choose your Full Name Email Alias carefully. Once you have choose your email alias, it cannot be changed. You may seek help from our support (cchelp@ust.hk) in case you have any query choosing your email alias.
The Full Name Email Alias is supported under the "@ust.hk" email domain which would redirect all the emails received to your email account. One of the usage of Full Name Email Alias is for printing on your name cards. In the above examples, the email addresses "John.K.K.Chan@ust.hk" and "B.B.Lee@ust.hk" may appear on the personal name card or stationery.
You can setup your Full Name Email Alias via HKUST iMail Personal Settings.
Please note that once you have setup your Full Name Email Alias, it cannot be changed. You should choose your email alias carefully.
