Authentication for Sending Mail through "smtp.ust.hk"

The problems of virus and spam are getting serious nowadays. To protect our users for better security, authentication is required if you are using native email clients like Messenger or Outlook sending out email through the SMTP server "smtp.ust.hk" in various areas. In general, if you are having your internet connection stated below, you will need to enable the authentication support in your email client:

• Broadband / Dialup Service provided by Netvigator, iCable, etc.
• ResNet
• HKUST Student Dialup Access

After enabled the required settings in your email client, you will be prompted for your ITSC Network Account / password for the first email sent within the same session. Alternatively, you may use the HKUST WebMail service.
