F-Secure Anti-Virus
F-Secure Antivirus 5.44 SR1 (for Win95, Win98, ME, XP, NT4.0 and Windows 2000
Professional)
Important Note: F-Secure will end the support of FSAV 5.44 by 31-12-2007, i.e. no more hot fixes or patches. However, user can still obtain virus definitions updates until F-Secure's further notice.
Major changes from previous release:
- Updated "getdbhtp" tool for virus signature update.
- Fixes for most common problems found in version 5.43 (see Release
Notes for more information).
Before install F-Secure Antivirus, make sure you have removed
other brands of antivirus software such as Norton AntiVirus as there
may have compatibility problem between these utilities (e.g. hanging your machine).
To install :
- Click
here to access the download page. (Required to have your ITSC Network
Account)
- Click Download located on the left pane and save the file fsavwks544_eng.exe
into your hard disk.
- Run fsavwks544_eng.exe on your machine.
- Follow the Setup Instructions on the download page to complete the
installation.
- Apply F-Secure's
latest hot-fixes whenever applicable.
Update FSAV with the latest virus definition database:
- Double-click on the F-Secure Anti-Virus icon located at the lower-right
corner of the screen (the system tray)
- Click on the Updates tab
- Check Remind me about updates every 7 days (adjust the days if necessary)
- Click on the Update Now button
- F-Secure BackWeb will download the latest F-Secure Anti-Virus
Update
- If you are upgrading FSAV from previous installation or reinstalling FSAV
5.44, F-Secure BackWeb already got the latest definition file and you
will need to install the virus definition database manually with the following
steps:
- Click on the Received Packages tab inside the F-Secure BackWeb
window
- Select the latest F-Secure Anti-Virus Update and click on the
Install Package Now button
- Click OK to close the pop-up windows after installed with the
latest virus definition database
