Function of Student Consultant :
ITSC would like to strengthen our students consulting services by providing
a face-to-face and fast response front-line service to the student. Start
from academic year 96 - 97, more Student Consultants were hired by ITSC to
handle most enquires come from undergraduate students.
A team of Student Consultants are available in the three ITSC Computer Barns to assist you face-to-face with your problem. You are recommended
to check on the Student Consultants available times on the Barns' noticeboards and consult them directly.

Student Consultants' Duties include
Man the helpdesk and provide consultation to students in barns
Maintain the printing service and ensure the print queue are all okay
Check all PCs for any software or hardware failure. If found, fix accordingly
Check for the seats reserved by student belongings
Walk around the barn and see any users require assistance
Ensure no food and drink in the computer Barns
Remind noisy students to remain quiet
Report the adhoc events to ITSC
Check consumable and record usage statistics

Use of facilities in Computer Barns
Printing problems, such as paper jam and paper tray refill
Increase Print Budget to your account with your purchased "ITSC Additional
Print Budget Coupon"
- Query on general network (e.g. Wifi connections) and
applications (e.g.email, Microsoft office, Web browsing)
If your problem cannot be solved immediately, it will be escalated to ITSC
supporting staff for follow up.
