Overview of Services

Generally, the computing needs of the University arise in 3 areas: teaching, research and administration. ITSC sets out to satisfy these needs by the following:

Offer free computer access for staff and students in the campus and out of campus through remote dial-in.

Provide and maintain a variety of minicomputers, workstations and microprocessors for various computing needs.

Maintain a network linked computers in different buildings on the campus including offices and staff/student residential units. Through HARNET and Internet, the University is linked to nearly everywhere in the world, capable of accessing vast amount of outside resources.

Support academic systems for teaching and research.

Manage three computer laboratories which are open to the free use of students.

Provide user services including user consulting, support, training services, documentation.

Maintain the central PABX telephone system.
