To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) holds an exhibition that tells the stories of the University’s impactful inventions and innovative ideas in teaching, research and societal engagement.
Titled “Transforming Lives”, the exhibition features science discoveries, objects, videos and materials of over 50 stories under six categories: building capacity, developing talents; enhancing communication technology; innovating materials; solving medical mysteries; sustaining environment, renewing energy; and engaging society, nourishing culture.
“This exhibition is a record of the memorable moments in the 25-year history of HKUST,” said University Librarian Ms Diana Chan. “We must extend our heartfelt thanks to members of the four schools, namely the School of Science, the School of Engineering, the School of Business and Management and the School of Humanities and Social Science, who have worked with us to sort, produce and recover valuable exhibits over the past year, this event would not be possible without them. It truly demonstrates the can-do spirit and our 1-HKUST motto.”
The exhibition is jointly presented by the HKUST Library and the Publishing Technology Center. Projects on display include HKUST’s contributions in the medical sector, novel materials and communication technology such as 5G networking and wireless connectivity. The exhibition also covers the University’s innovative teaching models and social engagement plans.
